I have just finished two elk hunts using these pants. I experienced everything from heavy oak brush, to steep avalanche chutes of rock, to wet waist-high grass, to very heavy downpour rain. These pants flat-out work.They breathed well when utilizing the hip vents and kept dew and moisture off of my boots and pant legs. They are extremely easy to put on and take off, and easily roll up into your pack. While they aren't fleece silent (no top quality waterproof garment can be) they aren't loud like nylon. The noise they do make largely comes from rubbing one's legs together, not from vegetation on the pants. Never once in our close-range archery stalks on elk did I feel that the pants were making undo noise that would alarm the elk.I am 6'2" and weigh 205 lbs, with an athletic build. I am not fat but I also do not have a super flat, washboard stomach. I normally wear a 34 inch waist on my jeans. The size Large on these pants fit perfectly. I placed their waistband directly above the waistband of my pants I was wearing underneath them and never had any issues with binding or tightness. The material is very high quality as are the zippers, seams, and workmanship. I fully anticipate hunting very hard in these on multiple western mountain hunts for well over 5+ years.
