Great boot. Perfect polishable toe. Great in the field. It is only held back by not having a zip down side.I needed new duty boots for work since my oakley boots are on their last leg. I used the military approved bellevilles when we first got the crappy ACU uniforms. I still have my issued bellevilles, which have lasted me almost 10yrs (of course i take care of my equipment). Since i saw these khyber boots, i figured i would try them. I always wear a 10.5 wide boot, and firgured i would order a 10.5 wide without trying them on. When i got them in the mail, and put them on, they are true to fit 10.5 wide. Im confident enough to say if you have worn military issued boots, and you wear a particular size, these boots will fit. I have worn boots since i joined thet army back in 2003, and im loyal to the altama jungle boots, danners (if you can afford the arcadias) and belleville. These boots aret really comfortable right out of the box. People who are complaining about these boots obviously have never worn those terrible boots they issue in basic training...they take about 6 months to break in.I think these boots are really comfortably and so far i have no complaints. I have only worn them about for about two hours around the house, thinking i would need to break them in, but thats not the case. I will update my review when i have put them through some abuse at work.I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a comfortable boot. I can't speak for their durability yet, but im amazed how comfortable they are right out of the box. I will update with how durable they aee at a much later date.Size 12. 2 weeks, about 10 miles of walking in them. So far so good. They are fairly warm in 20 degrees if you have on smartwool socks(I don't recommend wearing any serious boot with thin socks). They're not designed as a winter boot nd do not have a waterproof lining such as GORETEX. Despite this, when I wore them in 2 different downpoors i'd describe as medium, my feet were dry with no problem. VIBRAM sole seams durable, time will tell. Most of my walking is on concrete.Leather surely needed a break in period. Specifically around the ankles. When I first get them, because the leather was fresh, it was stiff nd ridgid nd bit into my ankles like a pit bull if I laced them up tight in that area. I almost was about to return them cause of it. Instead I decided to just loosen that area a little when I lace em up nd give it time. Within 3-4 days of walking 2-3 miles each day, they were broken in nd I could lace them up fully.Quick Tip: (Boot companies use different foot templates for cutting they're boot. Hence, a size 12 pair of boots from Saloman fits smaller or different than a size 12 pair from Lowa.)As I said, so far so good. Nd I do plan to get the Coyote Tan pair for off-duty, summer wear. Hope this review helped you in making a decision.P.S: The Danner Tachyon boots suck!Great boot so far. Had them 8 months now. Size 12 wide. Mechanic here and I walk on them all day no problem they’re light and lots of traction easily to kneel down and doesn’t bind or cramp your toes I highly recommend.I saw all the other negative reviews and my 2¢ is you guys got pairs of defective boots but I understand, mine are actually great. Either I was lucky or the people that wrote the negative reviews were just unlucky BUT I agree they need to be made here at home in the USA. Thanks everyone!I purchased this type of boot for the last 10 years and you know what... since the Chinese started making them all Brands are garbage!! This is my first pair of TR boots purchased based on 4 and 5 star ratings and that is BS.So, I purchased in my size (10W), took them out of the box, and put them on with a pair of cotton socks for warm weather. I work hvac installs in strip malls here in Florida, walking on concrete all day. So I know when I buy a pair of boots I can't prance around the living room with them; they have to be field tested. Which means they can't be returned. The width of these boots were loose, the insoles had to be replaced first thing so add another 20+ dollars. Look at the pic of the toe. The lugs on the sole is where your feet set right on top and the arch support is too high. It causes discomfort and your heal sets down in a cup again right on top of the lugs at the back of the sole. When I was standing straight up I was rolling back on my heels. I had to take these boots off after 3 hrs of walking a concrete job site. The soles have glue showing between the soles and the boot. The first time they get soaked they will fall apart. Good thing I kept my Haix boots I bought three years ago. The soles actually wore out. But even their boots could be high priced garbage today. At these prices I'm buying cheap Chinese crap fo me and 2 good pairs of better boots for the Chinese workers. I'm going back to the Peoples store right down the road.... WalMart.Using this model and brand for some time and other than its initial break in period, it's one of the most comfortable boots I've owned. These are the best I have found after 10 years military and 6 in law enforcement. Light, flexible, breathable with speed laces and a very shoe like outsole, I am happy with these above any I have worn from 5.11, magnum, converse, or oakley. They wear similar to a light jungle boot with more support. The upper is completely flexible, you can bend it all the way over. The speed laces allow for quick on and off. The sole is comfortable on all terrain and the ladder rung cut out in the arch is another nice feature. I simply add some qood quality insoles and I can wear these all day. I am only giving them 4 stars however because they need to stich the inner liner to the boot and not use glue, during an excersize in the water I could not remove the boot as the glue had come undone and my foot was stuck in the inner lining which was coming off like a sock. I had to forcefully seperate my foot from the liner and the whole inner came out. A local shoe shop restitched in into place for me and it is good as new. Great boot.
